Straight answers, including the cases where the honest answer is that you do not need this service.

Does a small business really need a server?

Not always. If your files and email are already in Microsoft 365 and no line-of-business application requires a database, a NAS with proper backup is often enough. A server earns its place when you run Tally, an ERP, a shared database, Active Directory, or a large media and CAD library where cloud latency hurts.

What does the 3-2-1 backup rule mean?

Keep three copies of your data, on two different types of media, with one copy off-site. It is the minimum design that survives a single drive failure, a failed backup device and a site-level event such as fire, theft or ransomware that encrypts everything reachable on the network.

How often should backups be tested?

Quarterly for a full restore test, and monthly for file-level spot checks. Backup software reports success on jobs that produce unrecoverable data more often than most businesses expect, and the only way to know is to restore.

Can you protect us against ransomware?

The backup layer is the part that decides whether an incident is a bad day or a closed business. We use immutable or air-gapped off-site copies that a compromised administrator account cannot delete, combined with endpoint protection, patching and network segmentation on the prevention side.

What are RTO and RPO?

RTO is how long the business can be down before recovery must be complete. RPO is how much data, measured in time, you can afford to lose. Both are business decisions, and they determine the backup design and its cost — so we ask for them before quoting anything.
